I have been haveing problems with the low coolant light and buzzer so I check the levels before even starting and it both places are full. I start the car and light and buzzer are on! I believe the sensor is below the filler by the air pump... Right? Has anyone had to replace that sensor? I can't think of any other causes for the light and buzzer going off.

unfortunately that is usually a sign that the coolant seals are going on the engine. i would have the coolent tested to see if there is exhaust contamination....... i hope its not the coolant seals

Is the sensor by the filler near the air pump? If so then fluid would be low when I check before starting. It is full before starting that is where I am haveing questions.

the reservoir has nothing to do with the coolant sensor unless yours has a crack. do you have any obvious leaks ? when you start your car do you get a haze of white smoke ? my FD had bad coolant seals. you have to rebuild the engine when this happens. i did the same thing you did....

I didn't say anything about the reservoir tank. If there is ever any smoke at start up it is blueish which would be oil. I was told from another forum that one person had the same problem but the wire got disconnected for the sensor so I am gonna try that tomorrow.

My sensor is poopy and I've replaced it once before. The One I got now is still a poopy used one I grabbed from PFS. If It is loose and it's mounting point then it obviously leaks. But you shouldn't have any problems distinguishing a bad sensor and a bad o ring seal. The sensor is on the front of the filler neck .It will be very obvious if it is not sealing properly.

Then the senor is bad or the wire is bad because no coolant is being lost.

Um the wire would have to be broke to be bad. I would say that If you are not seeing any coolant loss in that area . Most likely the sensor is fine and you may have a bad O ring in your rotor housing . Time for a new motor..

Ok read the first part of this thread I check the coolant levels before start up and it's full, the sensor is in coolant! I also have to coolant in the oil and I have never got a white cloud of smoke on start up. My car is driven 2-3 times a week so there is plenty of time for coolant to get into the engine if it was, but again all coolant areas are full.
