My brake light on the dash comes stays on sometimes when I release the handbrake... Is there a way to just disconnect this altogether? Or perhaps fix it? I just got my 85 GS last week, loving it so far.

You might also check the Brake fluid level, it has a "low fluid" sensor in the resavoir.

does your pedal go to the floor? Or do you need to pump the brakes to stop the car?

the wiring diargam shows 3 switches that turn on the light, one in the resavoir, one at the e-brake handle

and one in the ignition switch. I guess the first thing to do is to pull the e-brake handle cover and look for

bare wire near the switch that could be shorting to the handle or body.

I have had that similar problem, but it was always because my brake fluid level was low. I'd fill it back up and it'd take a few trips to get it to turn off...she's 20years old, it takes her a while to figure things out i guess

Yanking on the e-brake a few times (sitting still) has made it go off too.

I had the same problem, it was the wire mounted next to the e-brake itself.

My ebrake doesn't work.

I've checked the line right at the handle and it's very tight.

So what gives?
