I am running the street port duals on a 84 motor. Love it. Big difference from the Thermal reactor and stock system.

If I just buy the header, what size pipe should I run back to the muffler. As far as I know there are no noise laws where I live, and smog/emissions check doesn't matter. Also, since I'll just be buying the header, should I get the normal one or the street port one?

That depends on how much you want to spend at the muffler shop afterwards.

If you don't mind either way, then go with the street port header. If money is

an issue, then buy the smaller header. (It's less expensive to build a single pipe

exhaust than to build a dual pipe exhaust.)

Sounds like a blown water seal to me. Check your coolant level in the radiator. If its low, fill it and then try and drive it or run it for a while and see if it goes down again. If so, its most likely a bad water seal.

I let the car run for about 20 minutes last Wednesday and the problem seemed to be solved. So Friday I took the thermal reactor off and drove the car around for a day like that, WOW!! that thing is waayyy loud. I don't think anyone could handle driving with that noise and be sane. Anyway, I gutted the reactor and put it back on and when I get the insurance money, I'll be getting a Racing Beat header. With the rest of the money, a new paint job and if there's enough left I'll hopefully be getting a tune up on the carb. Thanks for all the help and suggestions!
