You can do a front subframe swap, from what I have read it is actually 10 lbs lighter than the 1st gen and requires little modification to get it to work (some minor notching of the frame to make it fit) Gimme a lil bit and I'll find the link to the walk thru.

2nd gen has independent rear suspension its not like a 1st gen, you'd have to do some heavy modification but its possible. Im looking into a GSL-SE rear so I can have a LSD or more likely a Miata Torsen LSD and just gonna stay with Watts link setup.

I'm doing this very thing right now...I'm putting FC 5lugs on my 85 GS spindles. I have a machine shop that's making a collar so that the inner bearing of the FC hubs fits snugly on my FB spindles.

They've had my spindle for two weeks but the shop has a lot of big name customers that come first. I hope to hear something in this next week. I've promised to post results of everything so that people can have this done themselves.
