I'm recently having problems with my FB. When I'm flooring it in 4th, at 80 mph/5,000 rpm the car starts faltering, sort of loosing acceleration in an intermitent way. If I let go of the accelerator a bit it stops, but if I floor it again it goes on again. Then if I shift into 5th, as soon as I reach around 5,000 rpm again, it does it once more. I'm guessing a possible fuel filter or fuel pump problem. Any other suggestions? problem sounds familiar? This problem became a real PITA when I was racing a guy the other day and reached 80 mph (on a slightly lower speed limit street - I almost lost! )

Clog in the Fuel system (likely the filter), or a faulty coil/ignitor.

Ahh the good ole gsl-se high rpm fade. Man is it my imagination or did my 79 with the Nikki Carby pull harder to redline. Hmm. Hey I talked to someone that said that replacing the Gsl-se fuel pump with a say mallory or MSD pump and a real fuel pressure regulator makes the care idle like crap. Anyone ever just rip that stuff out and try replacing with of the shelf stuff? Im gonna start a new thread ..

Well, looks like it was the fuel filter. Just came back from a test run after replacing the fuel filter, and was doing 85 mph in 4th at 6000 rpm - no hesitation at all.
