if u have a 13B that came off a turbo car, the center iron should have the injector ports in it. the only 13Bs that didnt bring them were the 13Bs from the 70s...
So unless when it was rebuilt, they used a diffrenent center plate, you should already have the injectors in the block.

if his was a turbo engine it should have em. theyre prob blocked off with a fuel injection plug kit

theres a slight coolant o ring incompatibility issue with pre FC engines and FC engines.

Those throttle bodies sure look a treat don't they?. At over $1000AUD (including the manifold) they'd want to.

Sorry, over budget.

only slightly off topic LOL

What makes you so desperate to live here?

Back to the topic,

Amanda: do you have the injection plugs in the center plate?

Hey cool, I'm from Kentucky... heh

Where'd you get a 13b manifold to fit the Nikki to? A '70s 13b I guess? If, in fact you are using a '70s manifold and you don't have injector plugs in the center plate, then you have an older 13b. A couple of things to look for to determine this are the mazda logos on the rotor housings and wether or not there are fuel injector plugs in the intermediate housing. Unfortunately, I can't find a picture of the old school 13b rotor housing logos, so I'll leave it to you to search.

I mention this because if you don't have injector holes and you you want to go EFI, you've got a lot of problems to overcome. As I'm sure you're aware, but in my opinion it will take a significant amount of time to convert properly and is not worth the gains unless you're going turbo, and with high compression rotors, you won't be able to boost that high...

If you still want a NA with EFI, then you may want to consider getting all the parts from a junkyard 2nd gen. ECU, harness, manifolds, fuel pump, etc. You'll save a lot of time and money. However, since it is likey that you have an old 13b style intake manifold, you won't be able to buy anything from a later model rx7 because it won't bolt on and you need the injector holes. I know you've done this already, but there might be something that will work, depending on what type of manifold and intermediate housing you have...

BTW, what do you have against carbs?

If your choke **** isn't staying out like it should, it's likely a problem with the electromagnets that hold the choke **** in place.

What I mean to say is that the engine bolt pattern is different...

Also, I DO think it'd be worth it to covert if you could get all the parts from a later model 13b, but I don't think there's a lower manifold (stock mazda, anyways) that is EFI and will bolt to the '70s 13b, but I could be wrong..
