DRIVE IT!! that's what you should do with it!

i would honestly replace all filters, plugs, oil, transmission fluid, diff fluid, ALL the neccessary maintenance, tune the carb would be good if needed.

post pictures also is a good idea. have fun, and welcome to rotary power, you will never go back.

The obvious thing to do would be to buy it immediately.

Check for vacuum leaks to help diagnose the high idle.

I thought all of them were 4-speed except 84 and 85's? Strange!! If it runs well, kelly blue book should be double or triple the amount being sold.

insurance depends on alot of things, your better off going to an agent and getting a qoute..

for $500 i dont think you can go wrong as long as it runs strong, check over the carb, like the idle screw and make sure its not set high, if it is that could just be hideing problems at low rpm's, im pretty sure you could make that back parting the car when it blows if you dont want to keep it

check for vacuum leaks, idle screw set too high, binding throttle cable, make sure choke is open fully, (dont know what its called) if equipped there is a small box on the driverside strut that has a cable going to the carb, they tend to malfunction and at times get stuck reving the engine up-I always yank those things off and throw them in the trash. just some suggestions.

Insurance ranges from experience, location, and car. It won't be as much to insure an FD though.
