i was talkin to this guy who had an 85 gsl but the weird part was

that he had 2 mufflers on his car.ive just had my REX since january

so im fairly new to them and around here its hard to see any 1st gens

around.i was just wondering would this setup give you extra hp basically he just had straight pipes from each exhaust port any info would help

two mufflers eh? Were they in-line or did he have a dual exhaust system? The only way I could imagine the later is if he removed the gas tank and installed a fuel cell. Sounds kinda fishy to me. Do you have any more details?

 

from what i saw and what he said it was dual exhaust there where 2 square mufflers hanging looked kinda ugly

 

Possibly could have been a fake one, as I had a customer who wanted a second pipe, but as inittab said, there's a severe lack of space there with a standard fuel tank in place. If you thought that looked a bit strange, I got a friend who races a gen1, and with the noise requirements, he has pipe that curves round behind the tank, into a muffler and then dumps out the opposite side. Looks like a VW beetle exhaust but keeps the race officals happy.

 

ha i figured there was something fishy about that setup

next time i see him ill inspect it more carefully thanks

Ive seen people run two flowmasteres (or similars) vertically side by side in the stock location...If that makes sense...
