Dual Leading Coil Question

i am going to build a dual leading coil set up and have a question. there is a capacitor with a bullet connector on the dizzy, do i need to hook it up or can i just leave it hanging there (a have no tach in my car)

I've always hooked it up and never experienced any problems. I don't know how your ignition will behave without one in the circuit.

it was not hooked up and was working, but i have a miss now. i probly will hook it up when i change to dual leading coils this weekend.
