my Mazda RX7s. 1980 is the target car and the 1984 is the parts car.

My quick question is:

How important is the circuit to the fuel injection computer box (terminal 'i') that comes from the clutch switch of a 1984?

I'm putting a fuel-injected 13B engine (1984) into my 1980 RX7. It's been quite a project with cutting a hole for the computer harness; making brackets to mount the engine oil cooler radiator; etc.

The question for the next stage is

will the car need this clutch switch (it's major to switch the clutch pedals themselves from the 1984 parts car)? How does it change the way the engine runs? I could put in a button to push each time I step on the clutch if it's a factor in starting the car.

Thank you very much,

Lou Binik
