as far as Checking the ignitors,

Since you have already pulled your distributer a couple of times, pull it again.

Leave the wires hooked up to the ignitors. No dist. cap.

Using a jumper wire, connect 1 end to ground and the other to the dist.

Take the 2 coil wires from dist. cap and set close to ground (meaning engine, body,

or - batt cable)

Turn on ignition (be sure to remove fuel pump fuse or loop the fuel feed into the return hose)

With key on, rotate dist and watch for spark.

Good Morning SmogFighter;

Again Thanks for the Info!

On to the Key Thingie.. I tried to remove the bolt off an Blown 84 motor sitting on a stand just to look at it and after breaking my back trying to get the F-in thing off I gave up. Is there an easier way to get the Bolt Off?

I don't want to screw up my new motor already installed in my machine.

As par to the Ignitor ? You would think that there is a easier way to check it. Or maybe not. The Hayes way of checking them with a light bulb is not very helpful since if you look at the Picture the wire setup makes no scence.

Well anyhew I'm done with this scenerio until I get back My Holley from RB. If it does the same thing then I will go back to the Ignition and go from there.

Thanks Again

Steve

P.S. Whats your real name besides SmogFighter?

Not that it's a bad name altho considering I'm on a anti Smog thing myself.

Ok,

My Alias is blown.

My Name is Raul.

Those crank bolts are torqued to 80+ ftlbs of torque! I use an air powered impact

wrench to remove them.

I will answer the ignitor Q's in louis' Ignitor thread to keep on topic.

look for the answer there.

Thanks Raul;

My neighbor has a air compresor and a impact wrench, so when he wakes up this morning I will be on his doorstep.

Whats a good way to lock up the engine so I can get the Pulley Bolt Off?

Never thought about putting it in gear first!!!

Only makes sense.

I finally found a RX mechanic in Cottage Grove about 30miles from my house. He's comming over Thursday and supposidly can Fix anything on these Machines. Old guy thats retiried and has done alot of upgrades to include Raced a few.

He is bringing over a RB modified Holley to install it temporarly to check out whats going on till I get mine back.

He said (No Fix-No Charge) Gotta like that!!!

I'll keep ya's Posted.

Thanks

steve

Well this Supposedly Super Mech didn't know his *** from a hole in the ground.

He worked on the car for 5hrs and screwed things up so bad that it would not start. He finaly agreed that I had everthing set up correctly before he Fucked with it.

So I put it back together the way it was before and wa-la

started right up. But still ran a liitle rough.

Gave him back his Holley setup and said go away.

He tried to charge me $200.00 for his time.

I like an idot gave him $50.

I gots bent over again!!!
