hey guys ever since we installed the carb its doing something weird. when you turn the car off, and since matt installed a manual switch to control the pump, turn the pump off the car keeps running. it eventually dies out which is when the bowls dry up. how can this be fixed?

You gotta cut the ignition off, not the fuel. What, do you have constant power to the coils?

well you turn the key off and the fp switch but it doesnt stop running. you take the key out and walk away and it doesnt stop running. if you dont turn the pump off it stays running

You need to have switched power to the coils, not constant. Should be no power to the coils with key off.

ok so even though racing beat modified this carb to run with on a 13b stock port matt believes the guy at the local, ive never been there but im guessing its redneck and specializes in dirt track racing v8s (lonestar racing), race shop when he said that those secondary jets are too big. I said matt rb built that carb for your motor and i think they know what they are doing, but he says that the guy at the shop has been "around" rotaries so he knows what hes talking about. Well my gf has been "around" rotaries for quite a while now but i dont think she knows much about them.

So now he wants to change the jets for something smaller. What is involved in changing jets?

matt i think im going to start charging you for doing unnecessary work on your car. after working for 4 days to get this unnecessary carb setup installed and running, ive realized that its not worth all of the work involved for the bleak results that are achieved. youre so quick to make a judgement of what you need to do to your car before you even research it with people who know (ie. nopistons), and then i end up doing the research for you.

i dont know, maybe im just in a crappy mood

Its simple, open the secondary bowl, unscrew the 2 jets with a large flathead screwdriver.

Shane, ive done research other places. im sorry that you've done uneccesary work, dont worry about touching the car ever again.

it's as simple as this, i learned how to lean it out, ive leaned it out alot, i can get the secondaries to open all the way, and it richens up in the mids. jets are cheap, so its a good idea to me to spend the 5 bucks a pair for jets and give it a try then to spend 100 bucks getting the carb tuned and then be told its the jetting.

it just seems better to try the cheaper option first.

but i will do it myself from now on.

i dont know how you know it gets richer in the mids, you dont have an a/f gauge.

i dont mind helping you with stuff that is necessary, i just dont feel like spending a lot of time doing these things that probably arent. if you talk to racing beat or a knowledgeable person with experience with this carb on this forum and they say that it needs to be done to make the car run better then i dont mind helping you.
