Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, me, me, me...

There is no currently available "kit"..

But... if you can find a CarTech kit, you're all set. Except, there is maybe one left, in the world. So, you're left with custom.

As for custom, you can probably get a Paxton supercharger from mariah, and you'll need to replace the intake with a 2nd gen intake, and probably the 2nd gen ECU. Or, you could just retrofit a '87 turbo to your GSL-SE block. see www.winisp.net/gsl-se for my car project info.

Cost? as low as $500 if you do all the work, and get smokin' deals on a new ECU and turbo. Probably will cost around $2500 by the time you do it right. If you hire someone to do it, $6000.

You can join the turbofb list (groups.yahoo.com) for others interested in doing such things to their 1st gens, or for the advice of those who've already ventured into the netherworld of turbo 1st gens.

BTW, boost in a [1] is very fun!

I definately agree that if you're gonna do the conversion, find the whole car. That way everything you need is right there. I'm in the process of having the conversion done on my car. I got lucky back in the summer and found a T2 for $1200. The engine was already ported, but supposedly had a bad wiring harness. I too have a goal of 300 rwhp. I was talking to my friend(who is doing the work and has already done it to his car) and he said that it is quite easy to get there.

So needless to say, I get to have fun next month(currently stationed in Korea) Can't wait!!

You know, I started reading this post and then realized I had read it before.... a year ago! :bigthumg:

I am surprised you couldn't sell the Cartech kit. I think a manufactured Turbo kit for the n/a would have a good following.

You can ask DirectFreak about a guy he knows about building a manifold. He says the guy he knows will build a manifold for any turbo and engine combination.Doesn't matter if it's a 12a or 13b car.Just pm Directfreak with your specs of your car and get him to send you the e-mail address. His RE FB will decimate all when running. :yum:
