doing something different is always cool man, but theres a reason most people do the same thing, it's the simplest, most power gains and overall just best way to go. Not saying 12a turbo is bad at all, just make sure your not spending too much money on it just to be different ya know?

Yeah, you do have a point. Just trying to get some information. I really want to do the 13b-RE swap after seeing DirectFreak's turbo'd GSL-SE. That thing looks bad ***, and just looks STOCK.

Thanks alot nopenis.

I have thought about it hard, and I think I will keep the engine completely stock. It is such a low mileage FB that it would be quite silly to throw a 13b-RE into it.

****, it has only 54k on the chassis. It is in such great shape. I will buy a higher mileage FB and do the swap by the winter.

the factory 12a turbos are fuel injected...same as the SE efi , usally we put a nikki or sidedraft carb on the 12a turbo motors to simplify the setup.. the 12a turbos are bad *** but dont come often... i get one about every 6 months

p.s. these motors come 8.5 to 1 compression and have huge exhaust ports!! yeahh

its on the home page

http://www.rotaryshack.com/

and 8.5 to 1 compression is the lowest factory compression available... its not very high.. the rx8 motors are 10.0 to 1, thats high

that 8.5:1 compression just seems high for a boosted motor.

i am thinking of doing the swap more and more. directfreak and dysfntcnl85 has inspired me to do the swap. i just won't be tuning the beast.

i dont know if this is relevant to rotarys, but my bro has the stock 8.5:1 compression in the 350 he has in his truck, and he recently put a supercharger on. so idk, but i think it should be fine
