Well, I just wanted to post that I think I know what Im going to do as of right now.

I need to get a job so I can get some money together, but when I do, I plan on rebuilding and porting the 12A myself. Im gonna get a rebuild kit, but use FD corner seal sprngs, and use RB porting templates on it. Then, Im gonna slap that bad boy together and have at it.

The only down side to this is that Ill need to re-jet my carb (lucky I have spare larger jets ), and Ill have a restriction with my single pipe exhaust, but as soon as I save up another $500 or so Ill buy the road race header and the street port center section then sell my old header, presilencer, and connecting pipe. Ill be able to re-use my muffler, and then Ill have the street ported motor as well as the full street port exhaust.

Hows that sound to everyone?

Sounds good. Tear open, port and rebuild.

Then go blow-through turbo. The hell with all that loud engine/header crap.

You'll easily make twice as much power with on 7-10 PSI.

On a side note, anyone know how big of a deal it is to replace the metal oil control rings and springs? Im trying to save money, and if I do the rebuild and re-use those, I can save over $200 by not getting new metal oil control rings and springs...

let just say those rings keep oil where its supposed to. i'd replace them, would suck to have a fresh motor and the oil seals go bad.
