I thought you could put any size Apex Seal into an engine. Like for example a 3mm into an engine that uses 2mm. Doesnt it just make it last longer the thicker it is? Or am I crazy.

i'm pretty sure you have to use the size that your rotors take...I believe its the thickness that the seal is cut...so if you have a 2mm groove in your rotor you have to use 2mm seals...and I'm also pretty sure that some shops can cut your rotors to hold the larger 3mm seal...but I really doubt you could do the reverse...short of just buying new rotors to use 2mm

but they've also got gobs of materials to make apex seals out of

u can put 3mm seals in a rotor that originally used 2mm, the seal groove has to be milled to accept the thicker seal.

any rotary 86 and up has 2mm apex seals, but the rotor can be machined to 3mm 3mm is stronger than the 2mm seals, or should i say, the 3mm seals will take more abuse
