I just put in my 6-port with holley carb and intake, headers and all the stuff I had on my car before. It starts up and idles ok, then if has absolutley no throttle response, if you smash it, it just climbs like you are barely touching it. And it can't even make it up a hill to get into my garage after I backed it out to get the antifreeze right. It just dies on me. I didn't have the fuel pump in yet, yea I know i need the damn fuel pump in, but shouldn't it still have enough power to get it atleast into my garage, or atleast have some response? Could it be ignition, but I have spark to my plugs and my coils are ok.

Glad to hear it runs at least.I hope I was some help to you.Raul is right tho.I think you need to time you motor. And might as well test the compression to see what the engine is like inside.

Are you sure the linkage is hooked up right?

And also check your Accelerator pump adjustment.

We checked the compression it is fine. We are looking at a messed up coil right now. My trailing coil always reads 2.4 on any coil we put on it. and on my leading they are all 1.4 were they are supposed to be. What is the deal with that. And I am pretty sure that the timing is right, we took it out top dead center, and pulled my other one off my 12a at top dead center so it should've been close.

It runs, the timing was off and I had to replace the plugs, distributor and rotor. Its still a little rich, but we are working that out. But now I have no guage bezel lights, rear lights or just about anythign else elctronical? what could be the problem. All of the fuses check out except for the one that is called opener. And it blows everytime I turn my headlights on. My headlights are the only thing that work.
