Default 85 GSL-SE (Project Rx007)

So i just got the beauty running with her stock 13B s2 engine. which has its perks of having the 3mm apex seals and overall a durable engine. built to match the driveline and suspension. The project bond rx007 is begging me for a major upgrade. the way the rotary works i definitely want to go with a turbo, but the process of getting the turboed engine is the question. do i modify my ECU and run a turbo engine on the 13b s2 where i could possibly get maybe 180hp, OR purchased a used jdm 13Bt s3or4 long block. no warranty other than condition on which it arrives. i have to swap the transmission (realistically) and ecu. but overall from what i can price out off the top of my head. the engine swap would be about $700 more. because i would have to purchase a turbo kit with turbo.

would i be misled to spend extra money to deal with the newer technology. is it really going to give me that much more performance compared to the 13b s2 upgraded. i'm looking to be educated by people that are on both sides of the spectrum cause i have seen a lot more 13b turbo upgrades than Tii conversion lately. why so?
