I read somewhere there is a ghetto quick fix for my steering column. My steering wheel goes in and out. When I take off the steering wheels pulls out a bit and I push it back in and it will come back out. Collapsable steering column fix. Should I just replace the whole column with box or is there an easy fix for this. Ive always just yanked the whole thing out and replaced on 1st gens Ive owned or worked on..............Open for suggestions.

I am assuming its a manual box, if so look on top of it and you will see a blue plug. that covers a collapsable pin that is supposed to help in case of an accident by collapsing and cusioning the blow. supposedly you just have to pull the plug and shove like a nail in there or some ****, never done it myself, just read it somewhere. hope that helps you get in the right direction.......................

I would use an aluminum pop rivet, instead of a nail or steel pop rivet. The idea being, it needs to shear so the column can collapse, If you can find a plastic pop rivet, that would be even better.
