1st gen rearaxel and big brakes
hallo everybody im new here im from Denmark so im sorry if its hard to understand.
im currently building a 1979 sa22 rally car.
my plan is to sooner ore later race it in historic rallying.
my problem is that here in Denmark not alot of people have knowledge about this car.
I have swapped the old rearaxel, wich i thougt was way smaller than what i needed.
i have fitted a rearaxel from volvo. MY probleme is if i wants to run FIA historic rally i need a RX7 rear that can be reliable and that is possible to get spare parts for.
so my question excatly what rearaxel should i be looking for and how much does they usually cost. and will i be able to find spare parts in a few years.
what brakes do you guys use i have just taken the old discs off the front hub with a leathe. but i would like to get the old group B brakes with loose hubs and discs:
hope it understandable.
best regards rasmus andersen denmark

I have a Toyota 8" rear axle in my '84 --> Toyota 8 in FB - RX7Club.com
Toyota rear axles are common here in the US, and they are inexpensive.
Another common option is the Ford 8.8 rear axle, which is used in the Mustang. These are also very common here in the US, with the added benefit that you can buy a fully modified unit from Granny's Speed Shop, ready to bolt in --> http://www.grannysspeedshop.com/
