I don't know of anyone who has tried it, but would be interesting to see if they do

I'm VERY interested in both conversions, front and rear.

I saw some posts on the evil forum about TII front breaks, but how does that work with the hubs and business?

Can I just purchase TII calipers and rotors and it just bolts right up or what? This would alleviate the crappy bolt pattern issue...

I also have drums in the rear and want to replace those as well, I'm just not sure what I will need to make it happen.

You guys never seached the FAQ section?Heres a link to swap the 5 lug front brakes over.

It would make bolting in a T2 motor that much simpler had I known this before hand.

I don't have any interesting in swapping the entire subframe, I just want to bolt up 4 piston calipers and FC rotors...I can't tell if the mounting point is the same for the FC calipers or not.

Hmmm...I think I'm going to have to get the rear hubs re-drilled but I was under the impression (from some guys on the Club) that the front rotors from a 2nd gen will fit just fine on my existing spindles. The only thing I will need, if that's the case, is a caliper mounting bracket. That way I'll have a nice lug pattern (5x114.3) and nice big brakes.

Yeah, that confirms what the guys on the Club said...since the outer bearing is the same, one would think the rotors and hubs would fit on just peachy. Pictures would make this much easier. I'm going to stop buy Pull-A-Part tomorrow and see if the '87 they have there is a 5-lug.

If I end up doing this I'll do a nice writeup with pictures.
