Got a question. My car backfires most of the time when coming off high revs and also at low revs. Could this mean carb rebuild or is it becouse its missing the smog pump???

Sounds like you're running rich. Does it ever backfire after you turn it off?

there are some antibackfire vavles on the intake and they use some airpump air.



either way its pretty normal, when its doing it at high rpm, it might be shooting little baby flames out the tailpipe

sweet flaming tailpipe lol. So theres no way to stop it then. i thought maybe it was the carb or that it just needs new cap rotor plugs and wires.

well just put a msd 6al in and new ngk plugs it runs so much smoother. dosnt backfire as much and also dostn sputter anymore

Yeah I need to do that this winter. I can't get mine to idle below 1200. I think it's because it loads up with fuel.

I was wonder if anyones got any perforance parts for this year and if there willing to sell. Id like to get some parts but dont have all that much money. Im in Petaluma California if anyone close and has some parts. If you got body and interior parts thatll be awsome too.
