Hey guys Im looking for some cheap and quick power mods for my rx7. its a 83 1.1 lol duh with the 5 speed. Im already looking into a exhaust for it. Looking at a header and flow through exhaust. if there is anything i can do to ignition or to the carb or exoust options to consider that would be awsome. thanks in advance

Here some pics of my car. Its in a little bad shape but it still runs and drives great. Just looking for some power mods for now before working on the interior and exterior.

I've got a Holley carb on a Racing Beat manifold and a Racing Beat header with a full custom exhaust and I love it. It's loud, but it runs well, and gets up and moves when I tell it to.

Search for some used stuff. I got my header for $190 shipped, my manifold for $150 shipped, and my carb for $120 shipped. Pieced the exhaust together from some pre-mandrel-bent pipe from eBay. I've got maybe $600 in mods.

exhaust first, header plus 2.5" back, with no other mods besides tuning will get you in the 115-120rwhp area.

intake+carb work too, there were tons of different systems made for the 12a, so theres a lot of used stuff out there.

stock ignition is good, an msd box is better

would i need to but two msd boxs. Im looking into exhoust right now looking at a decent priced header then custom exoust from header back.

Is there anyway to tune the carb for more power??

there is a bunch of ways to do the msd, most of them only put 1 msd on the leading

verneuil 10-08-2008 06:28 PM

i see would it be any use fule to have one on the trailing or just a wast for street applications??

Im also looking into a possible turbo but it might be a little out of my leaque at the moment. but is a possibility. For extertior mods im looking into the Mariah Motorsports body kits which are sweet.

If you're doing direct fire you only need leading. The leading fires twice and does the job of the trailing.

the trailing ignition only provides about 5% of the power, so upgrading it really doesnt do much.
