i 've a got a 1981 rx7 with 12a(good condition).i also got for free from a friend a t35 turbo,a turbo II intake and stock tII ecu.

so i got mad and i'm thinking of making a custom lower manifold to fit to 12a block and 13b upper plenum(injection),modify the stock header to take the turbo on it and run the stock ecu.what is your opinion?

should a crank-angle sensor fit to 12a or i need to use a modified distributor?what about the oil needs of the turbo?

should the stock ecu work and what sensors it needs?

any suggestions should help.

umm i hope you know that a 12a is carburated not FI and to convert it to FI your gonna have to spend a lot of money. i would suggest you stick with a carb setup on a 12a or if you want FI go with a 13bt swap

well your gonna have to spend more money than a 13bt is worth to covert a 12a to FI. now if you wanna do it anyways thats cool but your gonna have to get a custom fuel rail made along with an afm, tps an adapter plate for the mani and a lot more **** that i cant think of right of the top of my head

i think you are right.i finally decided to go the 13bt way.i've heard of changing the oil pan(with gsl-se) and front cover with one from 12a.but, if i will use a 12a front cover what i should do with the oil from/to turbo?

please tell me what sensors and meters are needed for the stock ecu to work properly?

i also thought of using the HKS manifold for T04 turbo and a T04 i already got with external wastegate.should it be better?should i need a FCD too?

well the oil from and to the turbo you can always just tap the oil pan or tee off the oil cooler lines. now that said if your gonna go all the way you should really look into maybe running a complete stand alone fms like a haltech, motech or tec II. haltech is the most popular in the rotary world but they're all good.
