I have a 1985 RX7 and am in the process of swapping my rear end.

The rear end that is currently in the car has non-vented disc brakes, LSD, and 13 inch wheels.

The rear end I am trying to install has larger vented rotors, LSD, and larger calipers. Can someone tell me what the bolt pattern is for this axle? My current 13s will not bolt on.

What are my options for new wheels? Does anyone know what model year this axle is?

I could really use the help and appreciate all responses.

Austin

ok...your original rear end is off of a GSl model which is 4x110

The one u just put on (which you a fukin lucky bastered) is off of a GSLSE posi rear end..gear at 4.11 and the bolt pattern is 4x4.5

I want to talk to u maybe you can help me find one..

I didn't set out to find one! I just told the junkyard that I needed a rear axle. They charged $150 since I pulled it myself.

I guess I am going to need to go back and get the front end off the car so that I can make the tires match.

ah yes,, i second the motion that you are a "fukin lucky bastard"... i've been looking for a gsl-se rear for the past year... maybe what you did will work- calling a bunch of junk yards and telling them i have an 85 gsl-se and need the whole rear.... some people make the holes in the 13 inch rims a little bigger so that the bolt pattern will fit (if they know what they're doing this works out).... however, if you have the $$$, get the front end also and get some 15 or 16 inch rims (depending on the pot holes in your area)... i have a friend who just converted his car from gs to gsl-se suspension with great braking (bigger, heavier rotors = better cooling and stopping) and torque (4.11 diff ratio) results.... good luck and if anyone knows of a gsl-se rear in the new jersey/new york area, please email me....

you dont need the front cover from the SE. you can use your 12A cover. ask 13b1stgen, i think, how he did it. also if the engine is still in the car, i could use the front housing and rotor.
