Please help ease pain and suffering....mine and my rex's

I just rebuilt my 12A motor, (from a 79, but motor is actually an 82 w/electronic ignition) and i get 85lbs of compression all around. which is great, since before i started it only had about 45 and 50! It's missing very badly-chokes and sputters when in the primaries, but no miss when secondaries open. Also dies when coming to a stop unless i manually pull the choke or keep foot on the gas. I've replaced and/or swapped out the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, distributer, leading coil and carb. WTH is left?

All the plugs are firing, however the #2 leading is fouled with fuel when i check it. i've switched it with the trailing to see if plug was bad. no luck. it was dry and the plug in the 2L became wet.

Thank you for any advice on this matter!
