Unhappy

I have an 84 rx7 with a 12a. I took a trip to a salvage yard. I find a 1980s gslse with the 13b and the four wheel disks. and the limeted slip rearend. I'm buying for 300 hoping the seals are still good. I want to know how difficult the motor swop is going to be. I swaped motors in this car before but it's all been 12a motors.

if you have the whole gsl-se its super easy, just put the whole set up on your car, its a 100% bolt in

One thing they didn't tell you is that you WILL need to swap the K-member from the -SE into the 12a car for it the motor to fit. OR you can keep the 12a K-member and purchase the Racing Beat cross mount that allows for the installation of a 13b into the 12a chassis.

The reason you need to do one or the other of the for-mentioned is due to that fact that 13b is 20mm longer than the 12a.

Good luck

Question

thanks guys. My one problem is that when I whent to go look at the car the throttle body and what it's connected to was unbollted from the intake. I fear the someone got to some inportant parts I need to make it run. I'm wondering if my intake off my 12a will fit on the 13b so I can just carberate it and my exhaust.

Do you guys no a place called performance it's a rotary specialist in tulsa.

12a intake manfolds are different than the 13b setups. The 13B carb manifolds are usually sidedraft which still uses a two piece intake setup. My SE 13b has a Dellorto manifold.

You can just use and adaptor plate. Mazdatrix sells them.
