hey since you all live reasonably close to me, could you help me look for an fc??na or turbo, preferrably turbo and with a manual.

75 Repu 07-29-2003 06:26 PM

ok.. I will look around.. don't forget to check the recycler and thepartstrader.com

Eric Happy Meal 07-29-2003 07:35 PM

yeah i look around here in the autotraders, but im not sure if ive found any that would be in reasonable condition. and if its at all possible id like to stay under 2K.

Streetrally 07-30-2003 05:38 AM

Under 2K is gonna be really tough. I bought mine for 2400 and the PO took great care of it. Almost no dings, paint in good shape, no leaks. Finding a car like that is hard. Finding a car like that under 2K is even harder, especially for a turbo under 2K. You're way better off just holding off and saving up your money, a lot less headaches in the future.

But I'll still keep an eye out for you https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

streetrally is correct. it will be very difficult to find a TII for under 2k that is in running shape which is what u'll need. S4's can go for around that much not running and a s5 can go for even more. i sold mine for 2500 modded with over 3000 worth of parts and a rebuilt engine. i sold it cheap cause i need the money quick. if u can find a deal like that than more power to ya. have you ever thought about picking up a na fb or fc? from seeing your birthday, i figure u r getting you DL or just got it. a turbo car is a little much to have as a first car. im not doubting your skills or anything like just, making sure you wont be doing anything stupid while im driving around the valley

Streetrally 07-30-2003 05:10 PM

Very good point Malibu-san. My first 7 was an FB. Those things are a hell of a lot more fun than the FCs IMO. They're about 300 lbs lighter, and I dig the sound of a carbuerated rotary... as if they didn't run rich enough https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif . I would take his advice and just keep a look out for the FBs or NA FCs. My FB had 200K on the clock and was still runnin strong.

Eric Happy Meal 07-30-2003 07:44 PM

yeah id be completely fine with an na. yeah in the autotraders around here there seem to be quite of bit of them selling around here for under 2K but im not sure how good of an idea it is to get those ones. but yeah NA is perfectly ok.

Turbo II 07-30-2003 10:59 PM

na is fine, ur looking at purchasing a 15 - 20 year old car. no matter what it will have its problems. just depends how willing u r going to go to work on ur car by yourself or with friends, or how much u are willing to pay someone to work on it. ill keep my eyes open and look for a good starter fc for ya.

and streetrally, i should put all your posts on mod que for calling me malibu san. its really malibu san you are god. jk

Eric Happy Meal 07-31-2003 12:14 AM

yeah i was thinking about it, id stick with the 13B instead of the 20B. itd be nice to have the 20b but its too expensive....so the limit is 3K now...still preferrably turbo.

I thought you go by Malibu II ever since you "borrowed" https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png a blitz front-mount off a local...
