Ok, I want to try and pull off the "completely" legal look.. if an officer is to pull me over and check under my hood.

Exactly what parts of the engine (in cali) need to be CARB certified?

Intercooler? I know the turbo has to be.. wastegate? bov? air filter?

Turbo should be quite easy because it'll be hidden anyways.

i think youll get away with it if everything isnt shiny. try and make it as dull as possible, which is usually how things look stock. why dont you keep all the parts your changing out and then put them back in when you get your smog check every other year.

Flat black or semi gloss, for the OEM look might work..

Anything that affects emmissions has to be carb certified.

This means all aftermarket stuff from intakes --> main cat. Anything after that doesn't matter, as well as anything unrelated such as BOV or wastegates. This is my understanding. The thing is, a cop won't give you a ticket for not having carb legal stuff other than the main cat (that ticket is ~$1k i heard). He'll just send you off to get a smog as far as I know.
