ive been building up my credit and saving. and as soon as i sell off my fleet of 1st gen RX-7s i can get my pre-SMOG. i love the r100 and the rx-2. i cant make up my mind what one i want to hunt down. which one and why would you guys go for? thank you
both! its not like these are everywhere....
I vote RX-2!
its safe to assume the r-100 is lighter but they both have pretty much the same suspension?
r100/rx2/rx3 basically have the same front suspension. the rear is the difference, the r100 and rx3 have leaf springs, the rx2 has a 3 link panhard rod setup.
the r100 is the smallest of these cars, so its going to be the lightest, but not by much wikipedia says 2013lbs for the r100, and 2315 for the rx2. that is stock to stock, and from wikipedia.... |
sweet. im thinken rx-2. theyre all amazingly beautiful cars but i can only afford one and i might as well have it handle as great as it looks.
oh well they both suck ass stock. plus they are both rare, id just look for both, and buy the best one, it'll prolly be an rx2
r-100 or rx-2 i'll take what ever one i can get. chances are the first one i lay a finger on i will not be able to turn down. but i need to plan to shop around. so what can one expect to pay for one thats in really good shape with an upgraded motor? the loan the bank is giving me will only loan me money for a complete car not the car and then everything thats needed to fix it. im hoping to find a 13b with a holly, or turbo.
a finished, nice car, should be in the 4000-6000range, a really really nice one will be more.
the r100 is small, you have to do some work to fit a 12a into it, 13b requires surgery, and would be scary with a turbo... rx2 is 1stgen sized, but again, these things a quick NA |
the 2 rx2's on ebay are like 9000, so plan on spending 12ish. man those are getting $$$$!
my GSL-SE may be going away tommarow briging me one step closer to a dream.
i sold my gsl-se and found an rx-2 a pick and pull. sadly i think it is un saveable but i now have parts and any of you kids want parts its at the rancho cordova pick and pull. CA
I have a friend who just offered to trade or sell me his r100. I can't let go of my car but at the same time I want his! I don't know all the stats on the r100 he has but I know it runs. Body is clean cept for a hole cut into the hood. He's gonna trade some other guy for a classic celica and 3500 if I don't take it first. Wish I had some money to take it off his hands. It's probably the only r100 anywhere near where I live

My grandpa helped me put one together, and every time i start it up to go deliver another pizza or to go somewhere on a nice sunny day, it feels like Christmas morning when you're 5 years old. As far as price goes, take whatever you can get. I saw one on craigslist about a year ago for $4000, but last summer, i was working, and someone came up to me and offered me 7500, cash.(Said no, cause i love my 2). Mine isn't that nice(needs some new paint), but she runs super smooth. best of luck to you though. |

From my searching prior to purchasing my vehicle i realized that rx2 are relatively easy to find parts for, i have not found anyone selling parts for a r100, so if you decide to go r100 make sure all is there otherwise buyyy tonnnns of tylenol cuz you will have many headaches, you have a pm my friend

is this forum that slow??? my post from last year is still on page two??? anywhoed. i sold my last rx-7 in october to a very nice guy in canada, and focused on my volkswagen jetta, trying not to even think about mazdas.
i got off of work yesterday and got onto the internet. i logged onto my VW club forum and under market place there was a post that read "attention kenny, attention kenny". so of course being kenny i clicked. when i did there was a link to a craigslist posting which i also clicked onto discover something i didnt expect but had to have. what i saw was a 1975 RX-4 for $300. as i said earlier chances are whatever i can get my hands on will probably be the car i get and keep. the car is very clean considering it was bought for $300. there is one spot of bondo above the passenger side rear window about the size of a dollar and a dent on the front drivers side fender. there is no motor and no front bumper. ill get some pix up as soon as i can. i cryed when i sold my 79' and now i want to cry knowing that i now own a old school mazda. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...ault/boink.gif |
Congratulations

300 bucks... The material to build that cage would cost more than that. That's a good damn deal.
but in this state its scrap steel. i love it and would never let that happen. i just need a totaled out rx-8 and get it referied. the other option is to take the racing beat intake and header i got from the junk yard and throw a 12a together. then drive it out of state and sell it. or keep it until i finish school and move out of state.
nice RX-4
