I recieved my C's short throw shifter from JT-Imports. It was a GREAT price, timely delivery, well packed. No problems at all. Jason delivered to my work address making things even easier for me.

Thanks Jason, I would buy from you again!

Yea, Jason, great to deal with. only problem.. I still haven't gotten a chance to install my short shifter yet.. I can't figure out how to take off the plastic covering and everything without breaking something.. but I haven't really messed with it yet..

Just take out the ASHTRAY/Coin holder first, then pull up on it. It has

those metal clips, so you can start in the rear of the plastic, I have found

that to be easiest bro.

Good luck...

I know what you mean about all the plastic. I don't want to ruin mine either. I will be working on it this weeked. Hope that cover comes off easy.

That's what I was thinking about doing.. so, just detach each metal clip? then pull it off? I'll have it check it out.. hopefully tomorrow.. thanks

Pull out your ashtray/coin holder. Start from the back of the console, and just lift up, it can get a little tight around the E-brake, becareful, you probably wont break anything (I didnt) and just work it up slowly towards the front of the console, and then just set it a side. Depending of it you have an alarm or defroser etc.. you may have to unplug those switches on the console depending on the slack so you can move it out the way to get to the shifter.

Then the shifter, loosen the 4 bolts after you move all the foam and ***** out of the way. Loose the 4 bolts for the noise/heat seal. Then the 3 hex tips bolts after that, and put the shifter. ADVICE make sure your e-brake is on, and your shifter is in neutral when you put the shifter or its a pain to put it back together. The E-Brake is so you dont go rolling down the street (we dont want to loose ya). Then assemble the shifter with a part from the original shifter IE DIAGRAM then just the reverse to assemble..

GOOD LUCK, any questions feel free to e-mail me

yeah don't be scared of that plastic console covering, it comes off as easy as your scuff plate, the metal clips just pop open as you pull it, just do it like JT said and you'll be fine.. nothing's going to break
