I have an "83"wide body RX7 & have been dealing with CPRACING since they first started in a little 1 bay garage west of Toronto, back in 2001/02.Chris & Pat have always been very nice & over the years I have watched them grow & was glad to see they became as successful as they have.Last December ,I decided to spend some real money & get my engine rebuilt, ported, new clutch & pressure plate, a Weber 48mm & manifold(mine) installed along with a new fuel pump, regulator, oil cooler+lines, roll cage, jetted, tuned & an overall inspection.I moved out of the province in Jan. but left the car with them in March along with a $5,000.00 deposit & the balance(approx $2,700.00) to be paid on pick up at the end of May.That would give them plenty of time to have everything ready as per our agreement.May came & went, car was not ready & I had to cancel a plane flight, not too worried knowing I was again returning July 1st week-end.That would give them another 5 weeks to have everything in order & ready to go.Over this period I was receiving photos & emails of things in progress,including...."it fired up on the first turn over"I was looking forward to getting my car back.

This is where it goes all wrong

The afternoon before I was to fly out I got a call from Chris that it wasn't completely running well. At that point I was beginning to get upset that the fact the car was not ready & I was arriving for pick up the next day. He assured me the car would be ready with an alternative carb(side draft Dellorto)& manifold.Due to problems at Halifax airport(fog) flights were delayed up to 3 days ,but I did get a flight out on the Sunday after many hours of waiting...

I arrived on Monday morning to pick up my car at CPRacing & it still wasn't ready. No oil cooler,no oil lines,no fuel pump, no regulator (money was deducted for pump & regulator),no car cover ( mine,I brought in) & NO wheel lock (I can not remove my wheels). After a long discussion & assurance I was going to get everything sent out by week's end & dealing with him as a friend of GOOD FAITH...BEWARE, I paid him the remaining amount in cash.

My car was filthy when I picked it up & was burning alot of white smoke( I mean smoke screen) I checked the oil & there was no reading on the stick. I added 5 ltrs. of oil & returned Tues.morning back at the shop to have it checked out.Chris claimed some oil was mixed with the gas to help lubricate the new engine...The car seemed ok the rest of the day as I prepared for the trip back.

I drove the car back to Nova Scotia without any problems, changing the oil & filter 3 times & maintaining proper procedures to assure everything was working well.

Again ,we corresponded & it was going to cost me an additional $400.00 to have my carb sent to the U.S. to be overhauled. I was not spending any more funds( these problems were incured in the initial costs). After some negotiating,we agreed to an even swap of carb & manifold & on July 13th I email Chris to inform him how unhappy I was with the whole performance of CP Racing & to just send what was mine (oil cooler+ lines, car cover & wheel lock) out to me immediately.I'll cut my losses & ties...Thank you very much.

After many, many email & phone calls...every response another excuse after excuse, I did not receive my parts.I have recently filed a complaint against CP Racing with the Better Business Bureau & with the help of a family member who lives approx. 50 miles away & 3 attempts, on November 2,he retrieved a faulty oil cooler +lines & my car cover...still no wheel lock,I will have to break them off.

I never had a problem with them in the past , but will never deal with them & will inform whom ever I can about their unprofessional business ethics.

This is the true story & I had to share it with the Rotary world....Please be careful...

I feel your pain buddy, it seems that these places get big and forget that the customer is what made them that way. My car was treated like sh*t from Judge Ito, his famous quote "one customer at a time". Yeah right! He took my money pretty damn quick and my car came worse that when I took it up there.

What burns me,is I never, ever did anything wrong to cause them to rip me off.The owner Chris was at my house, drinking my beer on occasions. Then he has the nerve to do this & to reply to the B.B.B. that everything is ok. A scam artist.

Well, before we all just go jumping to conclusions maybe what they said is true and we should give them the benefit of the doubt?
