works2r, lets start over here, for everyone reading this, there was no arguing going on, just conversation between the two of us.



let me first clarify, that I do not now, nor have I ever owned a shop. i am a customer of J&R and i really love thier work, so much so that I like

to recomend the shop to other ppl.



works2r, the first question i asked you was, hey how much did that HID kit cost you, you replied with "an arm, a leg and a left nut"

i said ok, mabye he got a really good deal and dosent wanna tell me, or mabye he just thinks i cant afford it. either way, i chose to not even let it bother me.



next i asked "hey, what turbo kit is that?"

you replied "HKS T04R, one of only like 4 in the country. actually 3 in the country since the other car got crashed"



i thought, ok i was just curious as to the size of the turbo, i wasn't trying to give you an opportunity to brag about how special you are.



i decided that you were an ok guy who was just REALLY proud of your car. thats cool because i think we all are preoud of our cars. anyway, at that point i asked you who did the work on the car.....



you replied "KDR"



i said "really? how long did it take?"

you said "all im gonna say is it took a while" (very nice of you to take the high road and not bash dave)

i said "i never understand why ppl wait soo long to take thier cars to him, I know dave is very meticulious and careful with ppl's ****, but there are other shops arround here that can do what he does"



you said "actually, he's not that meticulious, when i got my car back it had some loose clamps i had to tighten and some other stuff"

(at this point i said to myself, ok, he sounds like he was not 100% satisfied with his previous tuner/mechanic)



i then said, "why dont you take your car to a local place like J&R?" (i then hand you a card for MY mech of choice, NOT my employer)

you said "well, dave is the best thats why i go to him"



i disagreed and said "actually if you wanna build a motor for all out HP, there are lots of other guys better than him, but its your chioce"



AT THIS POINT I LEFT YOU ALONE. THINKING TO MYSELF "HES A COOL GUY, WHO IS REALLY DEVOTED TO KDR FOR SOME REASON."



a long while later when everyone was leaving, i heard you strt your car and the car shut off a few seconds later. i then heard you start it again and it shut off again.



(FOR ANYONE STILL READING, THIS IS WHERE I"M SURE OUR STORIES WILL DISAGREE BECAUSE WHAT HE POSTED IN HIS PREVIOUS POST WAS NOT AT ALL WHAT HE SAID TO ME. HERES EXACTLY WHAT WAS SAID BY BOTH OF US.)



i walked over to your car and said "hey, does your car always shut off like that on a cold start?"

you said "yeah, it's because my port is too big"



i said "your what??? who told you that?"

you said "its fine, thats what happens when you have a big port"



i said "seriously man, dave is lying to you, you need a better tuner"

you rolled up your window and i took the hint.



a min or so later i heard you trying to rev the car to warm it up or something, and i heard that it STILL wouldn't idle on its own (not bridgeport idle, it wouldn't stay running)



i then decided, i gotta help this guy, its a shame that his car runs like that.....

so..... i started blowing the horn of my friends truch to get your attention, then when you responded i said "hey, do you still have that card i gave you?"

you seemed like you were getting annoyed with me now when you responded with "I have REALLY big ports, theres nothing wrong with my car"



(now at this point i should have just left you alone and went on my merry way, and I'm admitting that i was wrong for continuing the conversation when i could tell that you didn't want my advice or help. i was being pushy at this point, but only because you kinda yelled at me with this arrogant tone as if i didn't understand how a ported motor works.)



i then said "i have a bigger port than prolly any car in this parking lot, and my car dosent shut off, its not your port man, its your tuning"

you then said "i had guys from RE A in japan fly out here and look at my car and they said the same thing, thats just how a big port is..."



at this point i smiled and rolled up my window.



i didn't wanna seem like an ******* by laughing in your face. i really was trying to be helpful, and not just smamelessly promote my shop of choice.



my goal that day was to meet new ppl and see some nice cars, which i did. i didn't give business cards to anyone who seemed to be happy with thier tuners. out of the 4 cards i gave out that day, one was to you (who i really thought could have benifited from it.) one was to Mr. Farell (early in the day before i knew he was Rich's DAD)



one was to who i now think is Jay (i asked him, "hey who does your work?" he said he did it him self, i was like ok cool, but if you ever need something heavy done and you need help, call J&R" then i gave him the card)

as i gave him the card he said "Ito does my motors, I've known him for like 10 yrs.". if he had said that ITO built his motors 3 seconds earlier, i would not have given him a card. Ito is one of the guys whose toes i wouldn't step on because i think he does gret work.



vosko, saw Jay take the card from me and gave me a weird look like "why is Roan trying to steal ITo's customers?" without explaning the whole timing thing to either of them, i figure i'll make a joke of it and say to vosko, with a big smile on my face, "are you happy with your mech? here take this," and i gave vosko a card too.) i hope vosko realizes that i was trying to be funny and not trying to convince him to leave his mech. i was simply trying to eleviate the tension from the akward situation with jay.........

I wasn't arguing with works2r, we had a conversation, in which i was a lil too pushy, and he misread my intentions

AND

i wasn't trying to steal Ito's customers, I didn't know that the guy i was talking to was Jay, or that he was in anyway affiliated with Ito till AFTER i gave him a card
