Can anyone confirm this?

Manny (sleepR1) posted that you could fit 18x9.5 +50 SSR Comps with 265/35 on all 4 corners with stock suspension. Anyone know about that? I believe him cuz he is pretty ******* smart about wheels and all that **** but I just want someone to confirm it before I throw down the money.

Rear: No Problem

Front: Maybe (IMO, I highly doubt it)

Why would you want rims that width for the front?

Why 18x9.5 on the front? Why the hell not? The more tire on the ground the better, right? Also, who else do you know with wheels that big? ME

Plus then I can rotate the tires and get good life out of them.

depends.

you have a RWD car, if you're gonna road race and such then yes i'd agree more on the ground = better.

two things would defeat that tho:

a) if you intend to drag race the car added weight, plus traction up front will result in slower times. Thats why pro guys use pizza cutters (those really small *** tires/wheels) as well as for weight reduction

b) you intend to drive in the rain. the wider a tire is the more chance you have of hydroplaning and *boom* goes car. As an example, that's why dually trucks are duallys, not only to increase carrying ability and such, but if that was just a 20" wide tire instead of two individuals narrow ones, the second the one big back tire hit a puddle there'd be a major accident/spinout. i experience this with my 12.5" wide jeep tires...many times.

I understand all that.

I don't usually drive my car in the rain, so I don't have to worry about hydroplaining. When I race I'll throw the stockers back on.

the guy with the 18x10s is maxcooper, running 285 30 18s all around with 7.5" offset CCW wheels. Coincidentally i just scored a set of those from work as track wheels for my car. Not totally sure on the size, but look like 17x9 or 17x10
