jspec...

as far as the TEINs...fdokinawa and your evaluation of crap, was adjustment the only issue you fellas found... ?

height adjustment took an AIR CHISEL to get to go up or down. We actually took it off of the car and it STILL wouldn't budge, even with some serious Rutt torque(and Rutt's a BIG DUDE)

He said that they are good coilovers, BUT the fact that the coilover adjustment locks onto itself after time makes it suck goat balls thru a straw... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

The lowest Tein shock that can be compared to the JIC FLT A2's is the Tein RE which outclass the FLT A2's. Tein RA's and below do not have adjustable preload while the FLT A2 does. What is preload and how is it adjusted? Preload is the amount of pressure applied to the spring before the forces of the vehicles weight compress the spring and it is adjusted by compressing/uncompressing the spring. Shocks that have adjustable preload allow for height adjustments without affecting the preoad on the spring. Shocks that do not have a preload adjustment compress the spring as the vehicle height is lowered. This puts unnecessary strain on the shock which leads to short oil/piston/valve life or more rebuilds in simple english! I use Zeal S6 with 20kg/16kg springs! I have experience with Zeal, Apex, Tein, Ohlins and a couple other shocks!

The bottom lock collar is used to make height adjustments while the lock collars below the spring are used to make preload adjustments! I know some of you guys hate Honda's but here's a suspension thread from Honda-tech! I'm Dee on that board!
