[quote name='RETed' date='Apr 23 2005, 07:20 AM']8", +35 is too close with stock suspension.

I've seen 8", +35 rims, and they all don't fit up front; spacers are needed.

I like to go at least with a +30 or less offset to make an 8" fit up front with a 225 wide tire.

If going with aftermarket coilovers, those with adjustable damper height (NOT spring height) can be spun upwards to clear rims with more offset - like 10mm more easily.

This is how people can claim 8" wide +40 can fit up front...

I have 16x8 on 5.500 inch backspace or in other words +25 and it hits my coilover spring perch. I had to run an 8 mm spacer with longer studs...

That can't be right?

8" / 2 = 4.0"

+25 offset pushes that to 5.0"

There's still an extra 0.5" of backspacing.

I realize that "rim lip" isn't always factored in offset, but 0.5" of rim lip sounds like a lot.

Backspacing on stock Turbo II rims is 5.0".

You can probably go another 1/4" before the rim starts to contact the inner parts.

So we're still back to 1/4" of rim somewhere...which is consistent with your numbers.

i used to run a 17x8 +38 with a 235 tire in the front on eibach springs with tokico shocks and it didnt hit the suspension, did rub the body inside at full lock however. I have coilovers now and they didnt even come close to fitting.

ive got 17x8 32 offset wheels with 235/45/17's on em, and theres room on the inside (i do have coil overs), they do stick out of the wheel wells just slightly. i also need some camber to keep the fenders intact.
