How big of a deal is it to upgrade your rear sway bars? I already have Koni Yellows and am upgrading my front sway bar, front and rear strut bars, and springs(I think I'm going with M2 or Racing Beat) but I noticed that alot of places don't include the rear bars in the suspension packages. I don't plan on doing any auto x-ing any time soon, just alot of canyon carving. Any help would be appreciated.

 

racing beat has a suspension kit. i have their F&R sway bars. i love the way my car handles. the rear sway bar was pretty easy to change

 

I was just worried that if I didn't get it with everything else the car would understeer, but it has such a lean toward oversteer that I was hoping to not have to drop the extra cash. I'm right at budget right now.

 

what exactly does the sway bar do? i have an idea....... but need to understand more

 

If your car is leaning toward oversteer now, try it with just the stock rear bar and upgraded front to neutral it out... you may realize you dont want to upgrade the rear bar then. No need to spend the money if you dont have to.

 

get the widefoot front swaybar mount.

it stiffen the front a little bit, usually enough to neutralize the handling.

plus the stock mount flex, that causes the swaybar to work less effective.



Also, change the bushing to energy suspension.

Basically, a "sway bar(anti-sway bar)", or "anti-roll bar" connects either the front, or rear wheels to add roll resistance. They are normall somewhat |_____| shaped; the top of the verticle lines would connect by the wheel hubs, and the horizontal part would have mounts to the frame.
