Lowering the car with properly designed springs can dramatically improve the handling. These springs have been designed for the street and are completely compatible with stock struts. They are of a street-race design which both lowers the car and increases the spring rate noticeably.

The H&R's are just fine on the stock shocks. There are a few area of concern when mating aftermarket lowering springs to factory shocks. The primary concern is an insufficient damping rate, which can make the vehicle very unpredictable on inclement pavement. The second concern is shock throw. The stock shocks are designed to travel the entire length of the factory spring. When a vehicle is lowered the shock is only that much closer to bottoming out. Hopefully, your bump stops are intact, which will prevent the shock internals from actually physically bottoming out, but will make large bumps painful at best when hit with any speed or force. It just so happens that H&R found a perfect (IMO) blend of spring rate and stance, without compromising ride (to a degree) or equipment.
