I couldnt find any feedback on FC big brake kits, so I went ahead and bought one. I was a bit scared of the ksport stuff, being of unknown quality and origin, so I opted to stay USA and bought a Wilwood custom BBK from Revolution Brakes. So far the stuff looks pretty impressive, I will install it over the weeked, to check fit and finish. I won't be able to report on the track performance till next year.

it's Wilwood, so i doubt you have very many complaints about it..bias will probably be your biggest issue with them.

bias is a big issue with the stock FC brakes anyways. we have tried some pretty crazy stuff to solve it. and have settled with Hawk DTC60 front pads Hawk black rear pads with a wilwood bias adjuster on stock calipers and rotors in the race car.

I did get the adjustable proportioning as well, but also they are engineering me a set of 13"x1.25 2 piece rotors with park brake caliper for the rear to equalize it out..Once I got good rubber I could stand on the pedal with both feet and just boil the **** out of the stock brakes with Hawk HP's after 2 laps at our local track that has a pretty good front straight, I was hitting 260 km/hr, then braking for dear life at turn 1, by turn 4, the pedal was on the floor.

Use Carbon Metallic front pads. You won't notice the rears after that.
We used to install a Corvette rear brake adjuster cylinder with a crank on the adjuster screw so the driver could change it under way. Cheap, easy.

I tried every "trick fluid" in the car, it never really made that much of a difference. The best brakepad I have found for the cars OEM brakes are the Napa ultra premium, even over race pads.. They dust like crazy and bite hot, far better than lots of race pads I tried(hawk and longacres). Bottom line is the mazda brakes are meant for about a 200hp car and to fit under a 15" wheel, shod with 205's engineered to the OEM competition of 25 years ago.They actually work pretty well on my pport n/a FC, it weighs 2600 ish lbs, and makes 230 rwhp, it also enters turn one 60 km/h slower than my turbo car, weighs 600 lbs less and has 1/2 the rwhp.
I've got to say, the Porsche cars I run with on the track have great brakes, its hard to find something in the P brand that is sporting anything less than 330mm brakes.. Those guys just go lap after lap, no fade, outbraking me by a hundred feet. They are a really well balanced and engineered car, and the racing heritage shows in their OEM parts.

my race car was the first second gen to recive the Hawk dtc 30s and 60s for the front calipers , thanks to a little run in with the hawk rep a few years ago at the pri show. we did some testing with them and sent ower traqmate data to hawk for them sending use the first copies. we have never had a problem with fluid boil with the motul fluid or the wilwood 570. we dont run cross drilled or slotted rotors due to rules in ower class and the bias control is now set to center with that combo , dtc 60 front hawk black back. car is very consistant even with centecs standard oem replacment rotors. check out my build link with the new ep car. you may like it.

BBK installed, to late at night to go and bed the pads into the rotors.. Had to do some mods to the kit to make it fit the car right, not major stuff, just took some time and 35 bucks worth of little parts..
Lots of rim clearance on 17" enkeis with this kit though. I went with the street/track polymatrix pad to start with. I have to make some new backing plates for it with air ducts, but that will have to wait till spring sometime.
