I am looking for some summer tires for my car. I dont do any real racing, just spirited around town stuff. I want something that will grip well but be able to handle Colorado spring and fall weather, not the heavy snows, I have real snow tires for that. Preferably, I want something under $100 a tire. So far, Im looking at Kumho. Are these any good? Any others I should look for?

Thnx

Andy

if theyre stock here you go, the options from discount tire: http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/sortTires...wood&vid=006201

i have the barum bravuris on my vert and i like em but they dont last long. i have the falken ziex 512s on my gslse and i like em but i you run through a puddle on an otherwise dry street you will lose traction.

Something for looks, or something to get the job done? These mustang gt wheels work great for me, and they're 17x8. Bought them with used tires for $300. Easy to find, since people are more than likely trying to get rid of them than trying to make a profit. (gold car up front)

Not the best pic, but all I've got right now. The offset it awesome, has a real mean stance.

well if you have real snows I suggest you get a real summer tire.

17" rim? that get's more expensive...

I think the falken azensis ST115 come in 17 inch sizes... 225/45/17 and 245 series tire. Those are pretty cheap

then there is kumho MX. I do not believe they are cheap enough to qualify for sub 100.

I almost bought a set of Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212 they come highly rated from the SCCA autox guys as a street tire. However selection of sizes was limited in Canada. But should be better in USA. THey should be sub 100 or close to 100 in 17s

I ended up with Yoko Es100, not sure if they are sub 100 in 17s but they are sub 100 in a narror 205 16" wheel.

Good luck.

Those were my 4 choices I picked when i was shopping around... I didn't go with falken because they don't have 225/50/16 and they don't have 245/45/16

I ran kumho's on my first gen, they work great on the street, but have to ease off the launch a lot on the track, so for street and the price compared to the falken, Id suggest the kuhmo's ecsta. The falken will last longer but suck in the rain.

I always liked the Mustang GT wheels on an FC. It is cheaper than a normal rim set, and looks good.

Don't get the Kumho 716 HP4s. They're not as good as the AVS ES100 from Yokohama, and that's not saying much. I have, however, heard good things about the Kumho Ecsta MX.
