19 Inch Rims?

What would it take to put 19's on a GXL? I got some 19's free from a friend and tried to match up the lugs but was not go. I was lookin at spacers but are those safe at high speeds? Would the rims cut my power in anyway I currently have the Stock GXL / T2 rims i matched the 19 to the 17 and there about the same size tire wise 19's have small tires.

Oops, I meant 215/35. Fat fingering sucks. I checked Tire Rack's site before I posted that.
Those tires will be like rubberbands on those rims. All show, no go. You'll have to take it very easy around town if there are any frost heaves or contruction work going on. Hit anything thicker than a dime and you'll feel it. Hit something that the stock tires would be rattled by and you're looking at a bent rim.
You might have got the rims for free, but the tires will cost you. Cost a lot. 19" tires seem to come in two flavors, uber-high performance or low performance show tires. The narrower ones seem to fall in the low performance area. Big wheels slow you down. They might be good for around town, but if you want to mix it up on the streets you might need to change your shoes. Ya kno wut I mean?
