What would it take to put 19's on a GXL? I got some 19's free from a friend and tried to match up the lugs but was not go. I was lookin at spacers but are those safe at high speeds? Would the rims cut my power in anyway I currently have the Stock GXL / T2 rims i matched the 19 to the 17 and there about the same size tire wise 19's have small tires.

These: http://www.makwheels.it/catalogo/prodotto.asp?cod=9 There pretty sweet but bairly wont fit on the studs =(
|
You should lose too much acceleration if those 19's are light.
But if you stuffed those 19's in there theres probably gonna be a lotta rubbin. |
It's all about the bling!
How wide are they? Too keep as close as you can to the stock rolling diameter you'll need 215/25 or 225/35 tires. |
Off to running gear!

there not that much better than stock like 1/2 diameter

Oops, I meant 215/35. Fat fingering sucks. I checked Tire Rack's site before I posted that.
Those tires will be like rubberbands on those rims. All show, no go. You'll have to take it very easy around town if there are any frost heaves or contruction work going on. Hit anything thicker than a dime and you'll feel it. Hit something that the stock tires would be rattled by and you're looking at a bent rim. You might have got the rims for free, but the tires will cost you. Cost a lot. 19" tires seem to come in two flavors, uber-high performance or low performance show tires. The narrower ones seem to fall in the low performance area. Big wheels slow you down. They might be good for around town, but if you want to mix it up on the streets you might need to change your shoes. Ya kno wut I mean? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |
Yea thanks man only logical answer i have gotten on both forums stupid asses flaming each other on 7club lol

Yes 19's can be done quite easy. I've got 215/35/19 and I had to roll the guards and lip them a little, and with no spacer plates either. Just choose the right rims first.
|
215s all around? Those are SKINNY. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png
I'd rather go with 18s and have some rubber than having the 19s with the rubber band for a tire. |
It's all up to you. Because i've lowered it, I can't put 225 as the tyre will rub inside the wheel arch at full lock.
|
The biggest size rims I think you should put on a FD would be 18's,19's are to big unless you dont care about performace.Either show or go. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...closedeyes.gif 18's are perfect!

j/k It's your car. |
Am I the only person to have seen 285/30/18 on all four corners on a FD? This is with no real fender work. If you need to take your car into a bodyshop to have your fenders rolled then you probably need help changing your oil too. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
But 215's? C'mon..... |
ghetto roll it with a baseball bat, make sure you heat up the fenders first so you dont crack your paint
|
Word up!
|
he's got 215s cuz its a FIRST GEN! The original question was about 19s on a 2nd gen and then 19s on a first gen, no fd. Don't shame the 215s

Ohhhhhhh, I thought the 215's were on a FD. My bad.
|
How wide are 1st gen tires stock? They seem pretty damn narrow.
Sorry for going off topic. |
