I thought it was being held up by an appeal from a person in the surrounding neighborhood but i emailed Commissioner Jane Sauls and she said:



"...The review identified a number of deficiencies in the raceway site and development plan.



As the result of this review, the Leon County Department of Growth and Environmental Management has notified the applicant that the plan as currently submitted needs to be resubmitted. This resubmittal requires a pre-application meeting, submittal of a revised site plan for Staff technical Review, and review by the County's Development Review Committee (DRC) of the proposed project's revised site plan."

 

hhmmm...that sucks.



side note: Jane Sauls is cool. Her son is my boss. Once I had her banana pudding at a ground-breaking ceremony, and liked it, so the next day my boss brought me more pudding that his mom made just for me . Commissioners get tickets to every event at the civic center; you're not supposed to know, but that's how I've been to several events for free .



Anyway, I'm sure she's against it, because she lives out that way, and many people in that area would hate to see it re-opened. All those dang trailers at whispering pines east and west would probably be in the noise range. I live about 5 miles away, I'm not sure if I'd be able to hear it.

nah, I'm not really up for any out-of-town trips. I love my car and all, but it takes a lot for me to drive hours, leave the family behind, and hang out with people I don't know. It seems like it would be fun, but just not a top priority right now.



but damn, I really need to take a ride in your car. Never been in one before.
