I just picked up this 87 it’s a na 13b previous owner done a few things to get the car running but with no success. The car has a new battery new starter new fuel pump new injectors and new plugs. I believe the motor to be newer because parts of the motor are painted blue.....just a guess. From paper work in the car looks like it’s not been driven Since 2012
I have checked the car for spark and when I hold the afm open the pump kicks on and I can hear and smell the injectors spraying. I have tried deflooding the motor and tried The atf trick. I worked on it all day and I have got the car to fire on it’s own without starting fluid once. But it only runs for 5 sec then dies. I bought the car with the intention of it needing to be rebuilt so if it’s a lost cause I’m not to upset.

 

I'd suggest a compression check, then go from there.
