Power window on the driver side of my wife's 1990 RX-7 is stuck in the down position.

Can anyone help to provide some help?

I was thinking,

#1 Remove the door panel and apply power to the motor to see if the motor is bad.

#2 If the motor works, then it must be the switch. Try to clean the switch or replace it.

#3 If the motor doesn't work, then I would have to replace the motor.

What do you all think? Is that the right process?

Thanks,

Dave

1) Check the fuses just to be safe

2) When you take the door apart, check the switches for corrosion, and than lightly sand it away, follow this link -> http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=766218

3) use a silicon grease on the rubber window guides

If that doesn't work, you would have to take the door completely apart and check the regulator etc

Guys, thanks.

It was the switch. I bought a replacement from eBay and now it works perfectly.

I took apart the old switch and found where it failed.

A light bit of Super Glue and now the old switch is working again.

Lol - now what to do - resell the part on eBay or keep it in case the original would fail again.
