Major starting problem

Would appreciate help / advice regarding my 231 RX8 2004 - after replacing my rear bumper several days ago the car refuses to start. I assumed initially it had flooded ( although it's never happened before ) and I went through the de-flooding procedure - even removed spark plugs - which were wet through with fuel etc. ...all to no avail. The engine is turning over but there is no glimmer of it firing. After kicking next door's dog I decided to investigate whether there was a spark being produced when cranking over the engine - I have got a healthy spark at both leading plugs BUT no spark being generated both trailing plugs ( I then tried plugging trailing plugs to my mx5 HT leads and had a weak spark from them )
ARE THE TRAILING PLUGS REQUIRED TO FIRE WHEN CRANKING THE ENGINE ??? OR DO THEY KICK IN WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING??? Don't know if trailing plug coil packs are knackurd? SURELY IF I HAVE FAT SPARK ON LEAD PLUGS AND FUEL IT SHOULD RUN... even if trailing plugs aren't as they should be..maybe lumpy running etc.

I am completely stuck as to what to do next!!!

Because the Rotary Chambers are closed off to the outside it can take a long time for a badly flooded car to dry out. One trick (which you'll see if you search for it via google) is putting a drop of oil into each chamber while you rotate the motor by hand. This does a couple of things, It makes the motor seal better and gets rid of the fuel that is washing out inside the motor. Note: It will SMOKE like crazy when it is started. Typically you can hear a flooded motor (because when starting they sound funny as they spin faster). Also you can bump up your spark by pulling the plug wires off the plug slightly. This increases the voltage to the plug which should fire a flooded plug. If you have spark at the plug wire it doesn't always mean the plug isn't flooded. I'd also replace your plugs. Leading plugs are an emissions thing. A Rotary will run with just a single set of plugs. Good Luck
