What psi does the stock fc fuel pump put out? I'm trying to pick out an FPR for my Ford 302 swap, but I'm not sure what the stock pump puts out.

Granny's speed shop suggests to crimp the hard fuel lines to make it 8-10 psi, then use an FPR to drop it down to ~5 psi, but I really don't like the idea of crimping my fuel line. I'll be putting a T between the feed and return lines.

j9fd3s:

should be around 39 +/- 2-3 at idle

Thanks! So can an FPR drop the pressure from 39 psi to 5 psi?

I was just thinking, is it 40 psi at the rails, or is that just how much the stock pump puts out? Meaning, if I have the feed line connected to the return line with nothing in the way, and a T off of that to an FPR, would the FPR necessarily need to drop the pressure from 40 to 5 psi? Or would the pressure at the T actually be less, with the free-flowing return line?

I just don't want to assemble all this, to have gas blow up in my engine bay.

Nevermind! I called summitracing's tech line, turns out there is an FPR designed specifically for using an EFI pump for a carb, and includes a spot for a return line. here. Those guys are helpful!

Reading the online instructions, it says "This regulator is not recommended for pumps over 200 gallons per hour."

What's the GPH on the stock FC n/a pump?
