Man...sorry. I have a similar story but it was the thumb and a camaro door. It hurt so bad. All I could do was jump up and down like a little whimp. I never drilled mine out but the nail started to break apart from the bed.

It was really gross.

Good luck...

You never know, I did the same thing, slammed it itn the car door of an Audi when I was five, it still hasn't healed.

You can heat up a folded open paperclip until it's glowing hot and gently push it through the top of the nail, to help relieve the pressure, howeve I am not a doctor, it worked for me, but try at your own risk.

When I was about 7 years old I did the same thing...blood under the nail.

When I went to the Dr's he said that the pressure needed to be relieved. He lit up a match and got a needle as hot as it could get, then poked 3 holes through my thumbnail.

I am not a doctor and I don't recomend trying this on your own. Go to your regular internal physician to seek help. The pressure does need to be relieved or the pain and internal swelling will get worse. You will eventually lose your thumbnail but it will grow back.

well that sucks

thought you were old enough to know that hurts.

anyways, being in construction hammers have the same effect. a small drill bit or hot razor knife helps alot. or just ask at work silly.

take a hot needle to release some of the blood. the pressure under the nail will cause alot of pain.

Yup, I made a hole on mine one time using a little niddle poker thingy that peoples use to poke the tip of your finger to get some blood out. I think is for diabetics or something like that. Anyways it helps release the pressure. Good luck with that.

while i cant condone just poking yourself wilfully with needles, i have had the same thing, and you will need to either go to a physician or do it yourself.

kettleman- the prob with work is that everyone has a sharp object and is more than willing to poke a hole through the nail.

even though i wear gloves most of the time, i dont want to open a portal to infection whilst i am in the lab....

guess I'll just have to "cowboy the **** up" and quit whining!
