My housings look about the same as yours and they are alive and kicking. All depends on what you want this engine for. They might not last another 100K miles. I would say use them with the 2 piece seals with the longer corner piece.

i just need it to get me by for right now.I had someone build me a motor for my T2 and i spend around 2k on it . it lasted 1200miles 200 after break in. blew @ 7psi WTF i dont know why yet maybe Bad gas ?poor port job? poor tuned=me but i was running it 11.0-10.8 and 16degrees@7psi....The motor smoked after rebuild he didnt replace the fuel injector o-rings,(they leaked ) reused my old intake gasket (after i had payed him for all new gaskets) AND took my turbo WTF! SO i am no longer planing on paying someone to rebuild my motor as i have 2 rotary cars FD,FC and am a mechanic. At first i was afraid of the Triange spinners and didnt have all the tools needed to spec the motor out now i do. Used housing can be a toss of the dice i know but im thinking it will at least build some decent compression after brake in. ANY advice would be great!!!! . but besides the condition of the housings i have mic'ed all clearances and all are within spec.

What broke?

The poor housing would be a problem in cold starts. Otherwise not a problem.

Post up a picture of the exhaust ports. That may give us a clue of what may have caused it. If its good then a sharp edge can be ruled out.
