That's what's holding people back from buying them huh? Everyone thinks that it won't make power?

vosko 10-11-2003 11:27 PM

if you sold a complete T04 kit for $1500 ish. you would sell about ten million of them

Complete as in fmic and everything? Or manifold dp, oil lines, turbo, intake tube?

mazdadrifter 10-11-2003 11:37 PM

it would really help me if there was a patch piece of pipe to route the exhaust to my existing downpipe.

That would be a bit tricky to make. or not.. ****, I don't know. We tore all the stock stuff out in a hurry, and didn't think about checking that.

Interesting idea though.

Here is the dyno plot for the fc in the pics.

The only things that have been changed since the 200whp pull are; to4, 3"dp, my manifold, safc. The 2" fmic piping is still on it. The boost is at 5psi. And I didn't want to turn it up because the afc is at +50%... So it needs injectors.

i mean turbo setup only

mazdadrifter 10-12-2003 11:20 AM

do you have the original dyno sheet?? I'm curious how much stronger this motor is down low, in comparison to the other pull. possibly indicating that your manifold helps the turbo spools quicker.

I was in a hurry when I dug that plot out. 001 is the first time that we ever dynoed the car, and you can see that it ran like ****. 014 is with the new turbo. Look at the dates.

I'll see if I can find another dyno from the car when it was stock.

setzep 10-12-2003 12:30 PM

I understand.

The only part about making a kit that holds me back is that my cost on a good turbo is too much. I dunno.

rmaiersg 10-12-2003 03:39 PM

I'd pay $2,000 for a kit. I'm too lazy to fabricate all that stuff myself. Cheapturbo.com sells T04E for $689.

vosko 10-12-2003 05:32 PM

well if you make a kit you would need the turbo because they can have different downpipes

Or are tired of making stuff fit, and/or work, like my swap.

matt_sb2000 10-13-2003 11:15 AM
